We are expanding our commercial team and looking for a driven Mechanical Sales Engineer to grow our footprint across CI's industrial landscape.

The Role

This is a field-first, relationship-driven commercial role. You will combine deep technical knowledge with sharp commercial instincts to build a strong client portfolio across Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Water & Utilities, and Industrial Manufacturing. You own the full cycle — from first contact to cash collection.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and develop new business by visiting industrial sites, mines, refineries, EPC project sites, and industrial plants across Côte d'Ivoire
  • Manage the complete commercial cycle: RFQ analysis → technical-commercial proposal → negotiation → order confirmation → invoice → payment collection
  • Prepare technically sound, competitive offers for pumps, valves, steel pipes, fittings, and rotating equipment — reading P&IDs, interpreting technical datasheets, and coordinating with international suppliers
  • Participate in tenders and bid processes (government, parastatal, and private) and manage bid submissions end to end
  • Build long-term strategic relationships with EPC contractors, mining operators, procurement teams, and project owners — targeting frame agreements and preferred-supplier status
  • Conduct continuous market intelligence: track new industrial investments, mining permits, and competitor activity across CI
  • Coordinate internally with logistics, procurement, warehouse, and finance to ensure on-time delivery and smooth collection
  • Maintain a rigorous CRM pipeline and use JCYARED's digital tools to accelerate quoting, reporting, and prospecting

What You Bring

  • Mechanical engineering background with solid hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, fittings, and rotating equipment
  • Proven B2B industrial sales track record — you have taken deals from first contact to cash collection
  • Ability to read P&IDs and interpret technical specifications and engineering datasheets
  • Fluent French (essential) and professional English (strong advantage for supplier and group communications)
  • CRM discipline — you log every activity, follow up consistently, and manage a structured pipeline
  • Highly autonomous and comfortable in a field-intensive role with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Côte d'Ivoire including upcountry industrial sites and mines
  • Mechanical Engineering degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5 or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in CI's mining sector (gold, manganese, bauxite) with knowledge of key EPC and operator stakeholders
  • Experience with government or parastatal tender processes in West Africa
  • Familiarity with international supply chains for industrial equipment sourced from Europe, Asia, or the Middle East
  • Knowledge of BCEAO payment instruments (letters of credit, avalised bills)
  • Arabic language skills
